The Jewellery Thief [Single]

1.
just outside of Aces when the first tab hit another junkie on the floor splayed in the shape of an X i could never understand why your tempos so fast rushing thru the nightsong & the first chord of permafrost rings out the drone "i like your new stuff, your old stuff was better though" a thrumming in my head that just won't go away... who says the drugs don't work? who says the drugs don't work... you know i played this song for violet a million years ago kick back & watch the monkey dance, information overload pause/loop/repeat/press rewind & start again when every fibre screams... at that girl, in the front row mouthing all the words you think she knows what they mean? it seems almost obscene... it seems almost obscene. & we all play games, we all pretend we're unique enough to be heard & we all touch fire, we all radiate in the glow of the failing word i had my hands up [stand up], then as now in surrender, guess i got clipped be the first to imply, the first to deny this... irony based on one last great slip. i have dreamt through these feelings, stale once again & the things i take, i pretend that they're medicine welcome back my old friend muse these scars they feel like armour now another chemist is here to make you disappear one last trip & i'll be home again i fed you gravity & still you floated anway... [i guess the drugs don't work] & that girl, in the front row screaming all the words i think she knows what they mean seems almost obscene i think you know what i mean... & we all play games, we all pretend we're unique enough to be heard & we all touch fire, we all radiate in the glow of the failing word i had my hands up [stand up], then as now in surrender, guess i got clipped be the first to imply, the first to deny this... anxiety faced on one last great slip. anxiety faced on one last great slip. oh the irony based on one last great slip...
